It’s mostly cloudy and 68 today, although it feels a bit cooler because the wind is a little chilly. And, I wouldn’t doubt if it rains this afternoon.
I lost track of time and spent the whole first hour with Julia’s class. It’s so hard to keep it to half an hour because by the time you get 20 three-year-olds all settled in for the day, 15 minutes has already passed. We talked about animals, such as dolphin, dog, lizard, horse, cow…
We corrected several homework pages in 5A and then María José assigned them several more pages to do in class—at least I was able to explain those activities to them.
With 1B Espe and I did our best to play this game to review numbers. She had a SpongeBob ball, which of course, they loved, and they had to say a number (1-13…I thought it was kinda odd that they stopped at 13 and not at like 10, 15 or 20, but whatev) and then toss the ball to a classmate. We later did days of the week, which I was surprised to learn they didn’t know (seeing as how I taught the three-year-olds way back in like October) so they learned those!
Since it’s Tuesday, I went to buy a bocadillo during break and they were all out of meat sandwiches. All they had left was Nutella like chocolate frosting ones. But, I was hungry and never bring an apple on Tuesdays, so I ate it. I don’t get it though…who eats chocolate frosting-ish stuff on a sandwich? Well, apparently some people do because they make some every week.
We played the same numbers game with five-years A that we did with 1B. However, we only went to 12 instead of 13 and we exchanged the ball for Ellie, the stuffed Elephant.
Last hour I was with 6A, the first time in like a month. Unfortunately, they were super talkative, so María made them copy this story from their book, which took all but five minutes at the end.
I’ve got a couple of hours before my lesson with Pilar and I’m seriously considering a nap—it can’t be too long though!
Xoxo,
Court
