As we get one day closer to finishing the school year, it’s a breezy 72 degrees. It started out completely overcast, but throughout the day the clouds have broken up and the sun is now shining a bit!
I started off the day with Julia’s three-year-olds. I was only gonna stay for half the time, but then when I asked her what time it was she said I might as well stay the whole hour; so I did. After the usual, we went over some animal flashcards—Julia said the Spanish and I the English.
5A started a new unit about animals also, including pandas, koalas, cheetahs, hippos, kangaroos and other a few other jungle animals I can’t remember. I showed them the flashcards and asked them questions about each, like what color, where they live, what they eat… Then I went around and asked each what their favorite animal was.
I read five-years A a story. It was about Max, Poppy and Mouse, who spent the day on a farm. Mouse decides to go for a walk on his own and they warn him about the cat that’s out and about. Well, he runs into a sheep, cow, pig and finally the cat, which in the end was actually afraid of Mouse.
We didn’t really have class in 6A. I got there and the door wouldn’t open, although María and the class were inside. I know they’ve had problems with it sticking in the past (I don’t know if it’s because it’s old or what) but it’s never stuck for so long before. Pepe, the groundskeeper, the principal and another teacher worked on it for a good twenty minutes before they got it open. María already had them copying some text from their books, so I didn’t do a whole lot…well nothing, actually.
And now it’s naptime, so PEACE OUT!
Xoxo,
Court
