HAPPY SAINT PARTICK’S DAY!!! Today it’s 60 degrees and sunny! It’s beautiful outside…I even got hot wearing my coat! Let’s hope the nice weather continues and spring is on its way!
Today was all about Saint Patrick! Even with the littles! 2A was first and we went to the video/orange room to talk about the PowerPoint. That took a while, because they’re still pretty small and don’t understand a lot of English, so Fran translated everything. We then watched a few more SPD video clips While Fran went to grab some paper for the class to draw a picture.
6B was basically the same, except we had more time, so we sang the “He Lived Under a Rainbow” song. The kids wanted to watch more videos, but Pilar and I were like “NO! We have to do SOME learning!”
Five years A was basically pointless. Espe and I had planned to tell a short story of SP, but the kids were so restless and were like “we’re hungry!” The problem is the regular teacher usually feeds them snack at 11:00, but on Thursdays, since we’re there from 11:00-11:50, we have class first and then snack about 11:40. It’s kind of a lose-lose because if they have snack before class, they’re all sugared up and want to run around and so they don’t listen, but if we don’t have it until after, sometimes they don’t pay attention anyway because they’re so hungry.
With the four-year-olds, Sandra made up a story about SP and a leprechaun (I thought about doing it, but it’s still REALLY hard for me think on the spot like that in Spanish!) and then they colored a sheet in which SpongeBob was dressed as a leprechaun, since they love SpongeBob SO much! Oh and also this little girl wiped her mouth on my jeans and left a stain…I almost gagged as I was trying to clean it. I showed Will and was like “Alright, here’s your gross out for the day!” He was like “Yeah, that’s nasty… that’s actually really nasty!” I know, right? True story.
Xoxo,
Court
