Today it’s not nearly as cold as yesterday; it was partly cloudy and sunny! Pilar did give a ride to school today, but it really wasn’t necessary…I could have walked; I was expecting it to be a lot worse. I even wore my big Columbia winter coat!

I started off the day with the three-year-olds. In both of the classes we reviewed numbers, letters, shapes and the days of the week. In 5A, using their fruit vocab (strawberry, apple, banana), we learned step-by-step how to make a smoothie. For example: 1. Cut up the strawberries 2. Peel the apples 3. Put the fruit into the blender…then they had to draw and color each of the steps, so that took the rest of the class.

We played a game to practice vocab in 1B in which one person held a stuffed monkey and then they would throw the monkey to another student and say “Touch something yellow/blue/red…” or “Touch the board/door/pencil case…”. Such little things delight them…like touching the stuffed monkey! I read a story to the five-year-olds and finished talking about Thanksgiving with 6A. I’ll have to talk about it one more time with Rocío’s classes (since I haven’t seen her classes in like three weeks!) tomorrow and then I can say goodbye to Thanksgiving talk!

I know I said this about Halloween and Thanksgiving, but I can’t believe it’s the last day of November! I think December is going to go so fast. This Friday-next Wednesday we’re on break. Monday is Constitution Day and Wednesday is the Immaculate Conception, so they throw in Tuesday as well! So…only one day of work (Thursday) next week! In the words of the Kool-Aid man…”OH YEAH!”

Xoxo,
Court
