It says it’s only 50 out, but it feels so much nicer than, plus there’s not a cloud in the sky!
We reviewed for about half the class in 1A (meaning I, and Marina too, ask them “How do you say…Can you tell me…And we also go around the room with flashcards). We then talked a bit about what it means to respect wild animals and we ended with a worksheet where they had to draw a happy or sad face based on pictures of animals and nature and whether or not they were being respected.
I had my first classes with Luis Miguel today (3A/B…he’s the new Noelia). The classes themselves were good; he’s pretty nice too! He’s only been here for about a week and so they kids are still trying to figure out and test how far they can push him. Usually I love third year (they’re one of my favorites) but today they were just annoying and being dumb. We talked about the Solar System a little and they kept giggling or causing interruptions. I haven’t seen them act like that before so I was surprised.
With five years B we reviewed their clothes vocab and then several of them complained about being hungry so we just did this quick worksheet in which they had to draw and color the number eight. To me that seemed pointless and silly; obviously it was a time filler, I know that, but that hour always gets overshadowed by “breakfast” and we never do anything of real value.
While 4B corrected workbook activities, I sat with Raúl (the kid with the English level of a five-year-old and apparently can’t read yet {in Spanish} either) and he worked on a sheet in which he had to trace food words and then color them. I don’t know if he’s ADD or what, but it’s so hard to get him to work: he’s forever looking around, getting up and disturbing others. I must say he’s SO much better than last year though, not nearly as bad!
No class this afternoon = Sleepy time now!
Xoxo,
Court
