At the moment it’s partly cloudy, 52 and the sun is out…not bad considering this morning it was cold and rainy.

With 1A first hour today we took a look at some new vocab about daily routines. It’s obviously really simple because they’re so little, but it’s things like “How many times a day do you…brush your teeth/take a shower, comb your hair, wash your hands”. Marina and I explained what everything meant using gestures, but I think there were some that still didn’t understand: one girl said that she takes six showers a day and a boy said that he washes his face zero times a day. I really hope he just didn’t understand the question; I hope that’s not true!

With 3A and B second and fifth hours we went to the video room to discuss Thanksgiving. Noelia brought her camera to take pictures all the kids posing in the pilgrim and Indian cutouts (something I didn’t even think of…I’ll have to ask her if she’ll share the photos!). We then took a look at one of the simple PowerPoints I have and finally we looked at the Thanksgiving photos I showed the upper levels last year.

Ana had five-years B make little Indian headbands. While they did that, I looked for some images for the little kids tomorrow. I have a few, but I guess she wanted more. Why she didn’t ask me earlier, I don’t know. She didn’t really tell me exactly what she wanted, so I hope she’s happy with what I found.

I went to fourth hour with 4B and Analen asked me to find another Thanksgiving PowerPoint! I found her two literally three weeks ago and all the sudden she’s like “I want another”. So I went to the video room and looked up activities I can do with my ETIC classes the whole time, then I went back to fourth five minutes before class ended and gave Analen a old different PowerPoint I have (oh yes, I have several!)

I have the eight/nine-year-olds at five. Today we’re starting something different with them: reviewing material from their school books. Apparently some parents like to blame us when their kid doesn’t ace an English exam at school…because it has nothing to do with the kid, right? Yeah, whatever… Monse, the one who’s pregnant and taking it easier, sent me a list of all the units I need to cover until Christmas. I only got it last night, so today might be a little unorganized. The unit we’re covering today is school vocab. I’ve found flashcards and games, but no homework to give them, so I don’t think we’ll be having any of that tonight…not that they should mind, though!

Xoxo,
Court
